Tietgenkollegiet is a beautiful award-winning dormitory located in green surroundings in central Amager. The facilities and surroundings are top-notch. The dormitory, built-in 2005, has 360 rooms. The rooms range from 26 to 33 square meters. There are four main types of rooms, three of which are 26, 29, and 33 square meters. Additionally, there are 45-square-meter rooms divided into two spaces, suitable for two people who must both be actively studying (see more under the “Application” section). All rooms have a bathroom, although only some rooms have a balcony.

Rent

The rent varies from approximately 3,881 to 6,724 DKK per month (July 2024) depending on the room size. The rent excludes electricity, water, heating, and radio and TV. There is an additional monthly consumption fee of approximately 400 DKK.

Application

Tietgenkollegiet accepts motivated applications four times a year:
• February 1-7
• May 1-7
• August 1-7
• November 1-7

To be eligible for a room, you must be under 30 years old, have more than one year remaining in your studies, have a bachelor’s or master’s program located in the Øresund region (including Copenhagen), and be eligible for student grants (SU) as defined by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Culture (or an equivalent program).

Your secondary education must have been completed with a minimum grade of seven (on the new scale) or eight (on the old scale).

You can apply four months before the expected start of your studies, but move-in can only occur two months before your study program begins. You must also have a minimum of 12 months of study time remaining.
