Hempel Kollegiet is a newly established dormitory that opened in the autumn of 2017. The dormitory was donated by the Hempel Foundation, whose purpose is to support education and research. It is located on the DTU campus in Lyngby, making it one of several DTU dormitories. It consists of 200 rooms, half of which are reserved for DTU’s international students, while the other half is reserved for Danish students. The focus during construction was to preserve the landscape, which means that both the oak forest and the narrow clearing create an intimate and cozy setting for the dormitory.

The dormitory consists of three different clusters, each consisting of two buildings with 12 and 13 rooms on two and three floors, respectively. Each floor has a communal kitchen and lounge to promote community and social life among the residents.
