Across from the Gamle Scene, in August Bournonville’s Passage, lies Dronning Margrethe Kollegiet. The college is for ballet students who live far from Copenhagen, including international students. There is room for a total of 18 students, and students are admitted to the college as early as 7th grade. The resident couple is responsible for the daily management of the college and its residents. Therefore, the couple resides in a service apartment connected to the college. The college has a cozy courtyard with a fountain. All rooms are furnished, but students are allowed to bring their own mattress, duvet, pillows, and various personal items. From Monday to Thursday, the college staff takes care of shopping and cooking, while on Fridays and weekends, it is a collaborative effort between the students and staff.
