Egmont Kollegiet is located on the border between Østerbro and Nørrebro by Fælledparken. The dormitory is one of the most well-known in Copenhagen and has existed as a dormitory since 1957. Around 500 students live at Egmont Kollegiet, making it one of the largest dormitories in Copenhagen. The rooms are 11 square meters and include a private sink, while the toilet and shower are shared with the neighbor. However, this does not apply to double rooms that have a private bathroom.

Rent

– The rent for a dorm room is DKK 2,675 (May 2023).
– The rent for the double room is approximately DKK 4,155 (May 2023).

Deposit:
The deposit for a single room is DKK 6,600, while the deposit for double rooms is DKK 9,200. Upon moving in, there is a maintenance fee of DKK 2,250 for a single room and DKK 4,500 for a double room. It is non-refundable upon relocation. (May 2023).

Social life

Dorm committees:
– Events Committee: is responsible for cultural events such as parties, lectures and political debates.
– Café committee: they manage the dorm’s café.
– Giraffe Committee: welcomes new residents. Approximately every two months, there are events where new residents have the opportunity to get to know other residents.
– Network committee
– Sports Committee
In addition, there are a number of parties and social activities such as the Egmont Festival.

How to apply

You must be enrolled in a long-term educational institution in the Copenhagen area leading to either a Bachelor’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. No one who is at least 30 years old or has less than 1 year left of a degree can be assigned a room. In the link below you can read more about the application requirements at Egmont Kollegiet.

It is possible to reside as a couple if one partner meets the application requirements.

Please note that applications via email are not accepted and you must send your application by post or fax. Otherwise, you can hand in your application in person at their office.
