In most cases, you can apply for a dorm room as early as three months before your studies start.
Often you can also apply even if you don’t yet know if you will be admitted to the program. Documentation for study admission will be submitted afterwards.
Application rules
No matter what program you are enrolled at, there are dorms that you are eligible to apply to. However, it can be difficult to understand the application rules, which often vary from dorm to dorm, but we’ve done that for you. As a member of kbh-kollegier.dk, you simply enter your current or future educational institution and how long you have been studying in the search system on the Dormitories subpage, and then you can explore the dormitories your education makes you eligible to apply for.
You can choose from the following educational institutions:
- Secondary education (stx, hf, hhf, htx)
- Vocational education (e.g. NEXT and TEC)
- Apprentice
- Short higher education
- Bachelor of/in (e.g. Metropol, Campus Roskilde, Niels Brock, CPH Business, KEA, University College UCC)
- Other Bachelor and Master programs (RUC, ITU, AU, DPU, SDU, DADK, etc.)
- University of Copenhagen
- Technical University of Denmark
- Copenhagen Business School
- PhD students
- International students (exchange students)
Other education (Not long-term higher education)
There are many student dormitories where you don’t need to be enrolled in higher education to be eligible to live there, but only require a similar income to student financial aid (SU). As a member of our site, you can read more about the application requirements for each individual dormitory.
